Announcement - next CRU Conference

The organisation and preparation required for the CRU team of staff and committee to stage a conference in 2009 is a significant commitment for CRU to undertake. As we enter into a phase of transition for CRU, we believe it is not achievable for CRU to deliver a conference of the usual calibre in the coming year. We are therefore saddened to announce that the CRU conference scheduled to take place in 2009 has been indefinitely postponed while we undertake a transition and renewal strategy, beginning in July 2008.

CRU Conferences

CRU was one of the first organisations in Queensland that created a conference stage that was shared by people with disabilities, family members, service workers, academics, policy makers and interested citizens. Similarly, the participants at CRU Conferences come from this wide range of roles and interests.

Through the Conferences, CRU hopes to build momentum in the community living movement through the provision of rich narratives and analyses, and through the building of relationships between interested and committed people.
