Organisation Development

Are you looking for quality values-based education and development for your organisation?
If so, then CRU can assist you with:

In-house Training

On-site staff development sessions can be tailored to meet the specific concerns of your organisation.

Orientation and Renewal

CRU designs values-based orientation programs for new staff, and develops renewal activities for long-term staff. Our programs are provided as stand-alone modules or we can work with you to compliment your own internal training. This work incorporates values-based training and individual and team development. It provides a terrific start for new workers and rich revitalisation to valued long-term staff and family members.

Quality Standards Training

CRU provides training in a number of Disability Services Quality Standards, including understanding what “quality” means.

Leadership

CRU has a long history of supporting and developing leaders in the disability sector. We tailor leadership courses for organisations, as well as crafting developmental opportunities for individual staff.

Reflective Events

CRU facilitates sessions with staff, managers and committees to assist organisations to reflect upon their values and practice, to gently identify successes and challenges, and to assist in the development of strategies for personal and/or organisational change.

Strategic Planning

CRU assists organisations to plan and prioritise, and to develop and refine organisational goals and values and objectives. This work is usually conducted across a number of days. We work in incremental steps to the capacity, size and budget of your organisation.

Service Evaluations

CRU conducts comprehensive, objective, independent reviews of services and/or programs. The evaluation tool utilised by CRU is unique in that it evaluates services not merely upon specific service criteria but from the perspective of the people that it serves. The key focus is understanding “what difference does this service make in this person’s life?” This is a valuable addition and contribution to the Disability Services Quality Standards.

Theoretical Events

CRU is a specialist in Social Role Valorisation (SRV) theory. We are widely recognised for our extensive knowledge, our experience in the field, our links to the Australasian SRV Group and our relationship with Senior and international SRV teachers and practitioners. The 2 and 3 day events are approved by the Australian SRV Group.

We develop a range of reflective opportunities to assist organisations keen to understand more about SRV, including half or full-day introductions to SRV, advanced theory events, SRV developmental opportunities, exploring the misunderstandings, misapplications, opportunities and limitations of SRV, and providing assistance to implement SRV thinking.

Organisation Development Projects and Partnerships

Whilst CRU may be engaged for one-off training, our interest is in developing long-term relationships with organisations. These relationships bring benefits of partnerships and projects with the organisations. For example, we assist organisations to locate and apply for funding for learning and development projects for staff. We provide leadership opportunities for selected staff or family members and we are involved in internal action learning projects and reflective discussions to help support ongoing cultural change within organisations.

Open Events

In addition, CRU’s workshops, forums and conferences are open to any interested service workers, committee members, and to the people and families they support. CRU schedules a yearly calendar of events across Queensland, often working with local communities to develop these events. Events range from half-day workshops to five day training courses. More information about CRU's training events can be found on our event details page.

Please contact CRU by telephone 07 3211 5700, by fax 07 3211 5711 or by email: cru@cru.org.au for further information, or to discuss your ideas.
